Every person wants to feel loved, known, and like they truly belong. That longing shows up in every relationship we have, but nowhere more powerfully than in our families. When family relationships are healthy, we feel grounded, supported, and connected. When they're struggling, we feel lost, lonely, and disconnected.
The good news is that the skills that build healthy family relationships are learnable at any age and any stage. Listening with empathy, expressing care, and showing up for each other consistently are skills, not personality traits. And it's never too late to learn them.
My approach draws on the Gottman Institute's research into what makes relationships healthy across all stages of life: genuine friendship, expressing fondness and admiration, turning toward each other's bids for connection, managing conflict with care, supporting each other's goals and dreams, and building real trust. These aren't just nice ideas. They're research-backed skills that change how families relate to each other.
I work with family members who are 15 and older. If the relationship matters and both people are willing to show up, there is a path forward.
Sessions are available in person in San Luis Obispo and online throughout California, Washington, Florida, and South Carolina.

Sessions are 50 minutes and held in person in San Luis Obispo or online throughout California, Washington, Florida, and South Carolina.
To start, I'll meet with each person individually to hear their perspective on the relationship, what's been hard, and what they're hoping to change. From there, we'll meet together and work on the specific patterns keeping you stuck, building practical skills for communicating and connecting more effectively.
Investment: $175 per 50-minute session. Private pay only. HSA and FSA accepted.
My work is practical, supportive, and grounded in Gottman Institute research on what makes relationships healthy. I create a safe, balanced space where each person feels heard and understood while we address the patterns keeping you stuck and build stronger trust, better communication, and deeper connection.
I work with family members who are 15 and older. This includes parents and teens, adult children and parents, and adult siblings. We'll start with individual sessions so I can hear each person's perspective, and then meet together going forward. All participants need to be willing to engage in the process.
Yes. Before we meet together, each person schedules their own individual session directly through my online calendar. This gives everyone a chance to share their perspective openly before we begin the joint work.
